The City of Woonsocket and the Woonsocket School District joined forces to build a combined public and school Library and the fitness center which opened in December 2004. A library dedication and ribbon cutting was held on July 2nd, 2005.

The Library offers books, magazines and audio, as well as computer and high-speed internet access. During the summer, the Library offers a Summer Reading Program for all ages from pre-school aged children through adults.

Friends of the Woonsocket Library are a non-profit organization that was formed in 2008. The Friends are a group of volunteers whose purpose is to support  the Public Library and it’s services and programs.  If you would like to join this group of volunteers, contact the librarian. You may give a memorial or donation to the Woonsocket Library or by contacting the librarian, Tracey Steele.
